I SAW MEGGIE IN THE CLOUDS TODAY
I saw Meggie in the clouds today,
As she ran and laughed and played.
She looked to be having lots of fun,
Enjoying the wind, warmed by the sun.
Her ears were flying in the breeze,
She really looked like she was pleased.
I miss her so, I really do,
I long to hear her roo, roo, roo.
The days are lonely, yes they are.
I miss her riding in the car.
Her brother Freckles loved her so,
He made her happy, this I know.
They played, they slept,
They ate their food.
They were best friends
Through and through.
It was nice to see her there, up in the clouds,
up in the air.
To know that she is safe and sound,
Is a feeling so profound.
Time will heal,
That is true.
But I will always miss her too.
So will Freckles yes siree,
We love you so,
Our black Meggie.
